US-CERT是美国国家网络安全部（NCSD）和位于卡来基.梅隆大学的CERT-CC机构的联系枢纽。US-CERT将和NCSD一起工作，阻止和减轻网络攻击，并减少网络漏洞。该机构成立的初衷是借助CERT-CC的能力加速美国对网络事件的响应。
